SONY Electronics, Inc. is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst for the World Repair Parts Center located in Kansas City, MO near KCI Airport.
Description:
Prepare and deliver monthly, quarterly, and annual submissions, heavily involved in Tokyo P&L reporting including additional responsibilities performing P&L Reporting, flash, budgets, and mid-range plans, for the Sony Americas World Repair Parts Center (WRPC-AS.)
Lead the development of a new reporting process, utilizing existing IT systems and infrastructure, to support a new initiative from Sony Japan World Repair Parts Center (WRPC-J) to identify & share WRPC-As Full B/S and P&L profitability by 60 Unique Tokyo Category Codes. Align the new WRPC-J reporting with current Sony Electronics Corporate Tokyo Category and SP CS21 reporting.
May assist and support in the month-end close including but not limited to: journal entries (preparation, posting, & documentation); preparation of bullet, P&L, GP, SG&A and reserve analysis; account reconciliations.
This position also interfaces with many other internal finance organizations on a routine basis and must be able to work effectively with them. Strong experience in computerized accounting systems is absolutely required as most deliverables are system driven. This position reports to the Finance Manager for WRPC in Kansas City and may include occasional domestic travel.
Qualifications include:
BS/BA degree in Accounting or Finance required.
4-6 years of relevant experience
Strong attention to detail and excellent PC skills including MS Excel, Access, and Monarch are required.
Prior Oracle 11i general ledger, Monarch Data Pump, Discover, OFA, Hyperion, Vista Plus and SAP R/3 AR module experience are preferred.
This position requires a broad knowledge of accounting practices and procedures as well as an understanding of business operations.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Individual should also possess excellent communication, organization, and problem solving skills and have the ability to handle multiple and diverse projects simultaneously.
The ability to multi-task and meet time critical deadlines is required.
Experience with P&L creation, budgets, account analysis, month-end activities, and G/L software is required.
Experience with SOX compliance and documenting processes preferred.
