Financial Information Specialist

Maintain the financial information system by providing user support in the areas of documentation, training, trouble shooting, upgrades, configuration decisions and setting up tables.


 


Maintain user access control and reporting structures.  Develop and maintain user training and documentation and customized reporting requirements.


 


Create and maintain roll-up groups, parent-child relationships, summary accounts, etc., associated with the chart of accounts and reports within financial information system.  Provide backup support for auto accounting processes.


 


Interface with Accounting & Reporting and CSC regarding corporate reporting--account changes, reporting changes, format of new reports, testing.  Interface with CSC regarding new users for modules.


 


Develop working knowledge of the total system--feeds, schedule of processes, etc.


 


Maintenance of rules, tables and structures of the financial information system.  Maintain all setup functions for the financial information systems.


 


Analysis of current processes and standardization of procedures.


 


Anticipate, plan and develop new reporting requirements to support changing business environment.


 


Monitor business changes to accommodate enhanced system utilization.


 


Develop and maintain a working support relationship with CSC to keep aware of system requirements.


 


Support reporting and planning functions with financial analysis as required.


 


Training and trouble shooting support for the financial information system to the finance area.


 Perform financial controlling function for designated shared service cost centers.



?  Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Accounting or Finance with a concentration in Information Systems/Computer Science/Information Technology or a Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology with a concentration in Business, Finance, or Accounting.


 


Seven years’ business experience preferable, three of which were utilizing mainframe based financial information systems in an accounting/finance environment.  Oracle Financials and Microsoft Office experience preferred.  Strong knowledge of mainframe based financial information systems and a good understanding of accounting standards (U.S./Canadian GAAP).  Working knowledge of the Company directives and processes.  Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills coupled with the ability to interface with people specializing in information technology and finance.
