Financial Programmer Analyst
Sallie Mae is searching for a Financial Programmer Analyst to work in our Reston, VA headquarters office. This position supports the corporations capital markets group through the development and maintenance of PC based financial modeling, reporting and analysis tools. The major goal of the position is to provide the group with high quality systems analysis and programming in a fast paced and constantly evolving environment. This will require the incumbent to be able visualize concepts and methodologies and then implement them in a very short time-frame. The incumbent will need a background in the financial services industry with project management experience and familiarity with financial or economic modeling. In addition, the incumbent will need extensive experience with Visual Basic, C or other similar type programming language, SQL, and Microsoft Access and Excel.
Minimum requirements include an undergraduate degree along with 1 ? 3 years in the financial services industry; 2 ? 3 years experience using Visual Basic, C or other similar type programming language, SQL, and Microsoft Access and Excel. Other helpful items include Knowledge of the student loan industry; Experience with financial or economic modeling; Experience with modeling asset backed securities; Experience developing project plans.
