SUMMARY:

Responsible for ensuring that all fund accounting is consistent amongst a client group of funds. Work closely with fund accounting supervisors to coordinate the timely preparation and review of monthly reports and year-end audit packages. Act as a liaison between Fund Accounting and all other departments at JPMIS, coordinating requests for information and ensuring that all reporting is accurate prior to delivery. monitor all aging receivables and work with individual fund accountants and the custodian to ensure their timely collection. Assist manager in the preparation of the periodic risk analysis report. Provide assistance to the supervisors and manager with other fund accounting related issues and special projects. Responibilities may include supervising a team of staff accountants and senior accountants.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Perform cross-fund testing monthly.

2. Coordinate the yearly audit process and serve as a primary contact for auditor questions.

3. Maintain a detailed log of all aging receivables and position discrepancies and ensure that research requests are initiated with custodian bank.

4. Maintain a list of potential liability issues (risk analysis report) and review with manager bi-weekly.

5. Conduct periodic meetings with staff and work closely with supervisors to prioritize workloads and delegate responsibility.

6. Participate in the annual review process by providing feedback to fund accounting supervisors and manager.

7. Help to establish, write and implement procedures to enhance the client group's efficiency and quality of work.

 

EDUCATION:

BS in Accounting or Finance related major.

EXPERIENCE:

Advanced knowledge of derivative products (CDS & IRS)

Extensive experience in writing Excel macros

Minimum of three years of direct fund accounting experience.

Must be familiar with all aspects of Fund Accounting and have a working knowledge of compliance, tax and financial reporting issues.

Strong understanding of current Mutual Fund Accounting procedures and controls
