Compliance Manager - Mountain View

This position is based in Mountain View, CA.

Google is looking for strong leaders who can drive cross-functional initiatives and take charge of high-performing teams in our compliance and risk operations group. In particular, we are looking for people with compliance expertise, flexibility, familiarity with the risk management/fraud-prevention industry, management experience, and outstanding decision-making skills. This role requires developing and driving payments-related compliance policies and procedures, as well as direct management over highly skilled operations associates who are tasked with keeping Google compliant with the applicable laws and regulations. Strong candidates should be extremely proactive, motivated, organized, responsible, and should work well within a fast-paced group.

Responsibilities:Directly manage high-performing teams working on Google's compliance and risk operations with minimal oversight.
Take a lead role in developing and implementing compliance policies, procedures and best practices.
Increase effectiveness of staff and tools by recognizing opportunities for development and proactively creating new systems and structures.
Develop metrics to measure growth and performance of the department, and provide reports as needed.
Interface with Legal, Finance, Product & Engineering to help define and drive improvements to Google?s compliance and risk management strategy.
Execute special projects involving quantitative analysis, industry research, and strategy development.
Requirements:BA/BS or equivalent experience required; JD or MBA strongly preferred.
Related experience in compliance or risk management in the credit card, banking, or payment processing industries strongly preferred, especially related to e-commerce.
Strong knowledge of and experience building policies and processes around financial legal compliance, including requirements under OFAC, Bank Secrecy Act, and related statutes and regulations.
Proven track record of success in previous work experiences. Direct management experience strongly preferred.
Ability to effectively operate with high energy and flexibility in a fast-paced, constantly evolving, team environment.
Ability to effectively influence and communicate cross-functionally with all levels of management within Google.
