Qualifications:

Saint-Gobain Technical Fabrics is seeking a qualified individual for the position of HQ Staff Accountant in its Grand Island, NY office. This position will report directly to the Director of Finance.

JOB SUMMARY:
The principal focus of this position is as follows:

? Perform monthly, quarterly and year-end close duties including journal entries, reconciliations, eliminations and inter-company transfers financial reporting, and analysis as they relate to fixed assets and other balance sheet accounts
? Initiate accounting journal entries; including adjustments, accruals, prepaids, etc. Verifying data accuracy, reconciling results, and identifying, analyzing, and investigating variances and their impacts including reconciliations between US GAAP and IFRS.
? Review, analyze and interpret all financial and budget reports.
? Prepare and maintain financial statements and other reports, including development of new formats
? Review, standardize and document daily procedures to improve efficiencies
? Interface with internal and external auditors
? Ensure financial information integrity.
? Ensure that proper controls are in place and are working effectively in relation to plant and group systems.
? Work with the financial team to ensure that group financial reporting is completed correctly and timely.
? Ensure that company and government reporting requirements are met on time and accurately.

The successful candidate will interact regularly with internal customers for capital projects and inventories as well as external contacts at the corporate level.


Skills & Requirements

? Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA or MBA preferred.
? Minimum 5 years experience in general accounting & reporting in an operating environment.
? Highly developed PC skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Access and PowerPoint.
? Strong SAP experience.
? Very effective communication (verbal and written) skills.
