Investment Analyst

Title: Investment Analyst     Dept:Acquisitions

Reports to:  Director of Acquisitions

Job Responsibilities:

? Underwrite potential acquisition and development opportunities using property valuation techniques 

? Prepare market / feasibility studies including location assessment and gathering data

? Prepare cash flow models for acquisition / asset management type analysis

? Prepare cash flow assumptions, collate market comparables, evaluate pertinent research data, review lease abstracts, in addition to other elements used in the preparation and development of acquisition cash flow analysis

? Assist in the development and writing of preliminary investment reports

? Assist and participate in the process of investment due diligence including reviewing leases, operating statements and budgets, real estate tax history, service agreements and similar financial elements

? Maintain records of transaction underwriting criteria in assigned markets

Skills & Key Success Factors:

? Understanding of Real Estate, Finance and Capital Market concepts / terminology

? Specific knowledge of office investment product and broad based knowledge of other asset classes such as retail, residential, industrial, etc.

? Experience with creating complex Argus and Excel models / Working knowledge of Microsoft office

? Knowledge of major investment markets such as New York, Washington, DC, Boston, Atlanta, Chicago, Los Angeles and San Francisco

? Strong qualitative, quantitative and analytical skills

? Strong organizational, time management and multi-tasking skills

? Ability to work independently and manage priorities

? Ability to work in high paced, dynamic and collaborative environment

? Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in written form

Work Background / Education Requirement:

? 1-3 years experience working in a financial institution / investment advisory business focused on Real Estate

?  Undergraduate College Degree (Business, Real Estate, Economics or Finance a plus)
