Position Description:

Java Developer/Application Support - Corp. Cash and Derivatives Trading Systems.

The group offers a challenging position as a Java Developer that requires both business and technical skills to create, enhance and support various applications involving P&L reports, risk management, position/trade analysis and price distribution.

The candidate should be able to perform full life-cycle development ranging from requirements analysis to deployment in an object-oriented software development environment. In addition, the candidate must be able to exercise independent judgment in developing methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results and should be recognized as a technical expert by peers and management.

The role will focus upon developing solutions to facilitate the flow of information between internal traders and external customers as well as across internal trading groups. In addition, the role would require design and implementation of user-driven enhancements.

?As such, knowledge of Fixed Income trading products, specifically Corporate cash trading and derivative trading. Flexibility is essential, as this candidate will be required to effectively manage changes in client requirements and priorities in a dynamic and highly demanding environment. He/she should be a proactive team player with the ability to work in a moderately structured environment and should continually challenge himself/herself to increase his/her analytical skills, design techniques, application development and software evaluation and deployment methods.

Position Requirements:

Business Skills

- Excellent understanding of fixed income and credit products

- The above should include knowledge of structures, Risk, P&L and attribution Character/Professionalism

- Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and verbal/written communication skills

- Self-motivated, independent, and achievement oriented, with high energy level.

?- Ability to multi-task and balance project work within highly demanding environment

- Ability to guide more junior team members in finding solutions Experience

- 5+ years practical experience with Java, HTML, JSP and JavaScript in Banking/Financial firm

- Experience with Oracle database programming

- Experience with Sybase databases

- Requires a comprehensive and in-depth knowledge of the principles, concepts and theories of software development techniques and systems designs Educational Background

- Degree level qualification in a computing based subject
