MARKET PLANNING MANAGER - GIS MANAGER - RETAIL REAL ESTATE MANAGER

This position contributes to Dollar General's success by conducting market and site location strategic planning research and analysis. The Market Planning Manager works closely with senior management to define market and real estate development strategies that maximize company value.

 

Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:Lead project teams in conducting strategic planning research using geodemographic, consumer and company data regarding market development, store network optimization, new store site selection, store expansion, and renovations or relocations. Oversees the production of demographic reporting and analysis used by field directors to determine viability of targeted site locations. Lead project team in detailed market and site analysis using sophisticated modeling and market analysis tools to determine site viability and forecast sales and profitability targets of potential site locations. Conduct statistical analysis and build multivariate models using company and consumer data. Create reports and applications on store and market performance. Review analysis completed by others and makes recommendations to Senior Management. Oversee analytical support of ad hoc reports and strategic planning analyses to support field real estate development as well as other Dollar General departments.  Conduct analysis of growth and market penetration strategies, understanding of competitive influence, socioeconomic and demographic factors. Assists management with identification of appropriate strategies and execution plans to achieve store opening, penetration and sales performance objectives. Oversee the execution of projects assessing new business development, growth, strategic planning and related business initiatives. Works with cross-functional teams to develop analytical information. Oversee the review, selection, and implementation of all technology related to sales modeling and site and market analysis technology. Develop strategic frameworks, processes, and conceptual approaches to better understand customer behaviors, branding campaigns, and competitor and site choice impact. Present site analysis and market presentations to members of Senior Management.

BA/BS degree, MBA Preferred  Retail market, site analysis or marketing research using demographic data preferred Excellent Knowledge of Microsoft Applications (Excel, Microsoft, PowerPoint, Access) Advanced financial and statistical modeling skills a plus Clear understanding of financial, statistical and economic concepts Ability to set priorities while conducting analysis to arrive at an actionable solution Ability to lead and motivate others in a team environment Excellent communication and teamwork skills Familiarity with application of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and spatial analysis technology in market research environment


Compensation will consist of a competitive salary based on your experience, with bonus potential.
