Manager - Financial Services

Job Description: Manages business unit financial analysis to support complex business performance analysis and support management decision-making. Responsible for financial analyses in support of new internal business development opportunities and cross-portfolio financial initiatives. Responsible for building financial models and provide key analyses for new partnerships and strategic planning. Works with senior management to provide medium to highly complex financial and technical analysis and recommendations regarding current and/or proposed product lines, pricing models and methodologies, business channels, business opportunities, and/or internal measurements, reporting, and methodologies. Partners at all levels in Risk, Marketing and Finance to develop assumptions and validate findings.



Manage the development and delivery of moderate to highly complex financial analysis, modeling and reporting to support business results tracking and decision-making. Manage the development of qualitative and quantitative analysis and prepare metrics on assigned business area to include product pricing, business lines, channels, customers, new business opportunities, forecasts, incentives, budgets, external forces and trends and/or cost-benefit analysis.



May manage staff by assigning and reviewing work to support business unit and department analysis and reporting needs. Prepare performance reviews and provide training, planning and career development, as appropriate.



Assist Senior Management in defining department objectives and goals. Identify methods and resources and provide guidance to staff members.



Identify financial risks and opportunities for area of responsibility. Make recommendations and support the implementation of strategies and new initiatives (i.e. new products or channels).



Prepare analyses and presentations, assess the impact of the analysis, identify conclusions, opportunities and risks, and make appropriate recommendations. Evaluate the financial results of ongoing business strategies as well as long-term development and design strategies.



Respond to requests from senior management, business managers, product development and marketing for analysis and metrics.



Assess the financial impact of analysis and makes recommendations based on the results. Define and develop methods and procedures to prepare and maintain analytics.



Consult with executive management, corporate finance, other internal departments and external resources to provide analysis, conclusions, opportunities and risks.



Support the development and review of business plans, as appropriate.



Ensure compliance monitoring is in place, including processes for management of operational risk, in accordance with Company and regulatory standards.



Complete other related duties as assigned and provide management direction to foster effective selection, development and reward of subordinates while contributing to initiatives in support of the Company’s Diversity programs.

Job Experience:
Minimum of three years proven financial analysis and/or project management experience, or equivalent. Consumer financial services experience preferred.

Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, mathematics, statistics, business management, related field or equivalent experience; MBA preferred.

Well-developed and demonstrated management, interpersonal, analytical, project management, presentation and verbal and written communication skills. Previous personnel management experience preferred, but not required.

Knowledge of financial principles, P&L, Balance Sheet, financial analysis, modeling, systems and reporting preferred.

Proficiency with personal computers and software packages. Advanced spreadsheet and database knowledge preferred.
