Merchandise Allocator

Job Description : Stein Mart, Inc. is currently seeking to fill a Merchandise Allocator position to join our busy, dynamic Planning team. This position is responsible for assisting Planners and Planning Managers in allocating, distributing and managing merchandise inventory, and provides an exciting opportunity for decision making, business growth and advancement potential.

Job Summary:

- Allocate merchandise to stores and work with Planners to create allocations based on store plans and current business trends.

- Manage basic replenishment system by creating model stocks to maximize opportunities, relating model stocks to fixture and presentation plans, and ensuring timely approval of replenishment orders.

- Assist in the development of advertising prep guidelines and pre-market purchase recommendations.

- Manage business results by partnering with Planner to respond to changing sales trends and reviewing weekly stock to sales ratios and overall business at class level.

 

Background Requirements:

- Bachelor?s Degree in Marketing, Business, Fashion Merchandising or other related field and/or 1-3 years applicable retail work experience, prior allocation experience preferred.

- Strong retail math and analytical skills required; ability to research and analyze large amounts of data

- Computer skills to include navigational ability in a networked environment; proficiency in spreadsheet, email and word processing applications.

- Demonstrated ability to communicate both verbally and in writing.

- Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with all levels within the organization.
