Merger & Acquisition Associate

General Purpose of this Position

This position will be responsible for conducting the necessary analysis and assessment to support the definition of the company?s overall growth strategy. Specific responsibilities would include conducting industry, analysis and assessment, screening companies for possible M&A and alliances, and developing financial models as part of M&A and alliance transactions.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

? Conduct industry and market analysis to assist in the development of an overall company strategy;

? Evaluate potential mergers, acquisitions, and alliance opportunities, and present recommendations to senior executives on potential target candidates;

? Conduct detailed research, and develop detailed financial analysis on target companies as part of the evaluation process;

? Develop valuation models; 

? Coordinate the due diligence process, and assist the VP of Business Development and M&A in coordinating the overall transaction process;

? Make recommendations to senior leadership on new business development opportunities;

? Possess strong financial analysis and modeling skills;

? Able to set goals, organize efforts and work independently to meet deadlines;

? Able to take initiative and work well individually;

? Ability to formulate, implement and evaluate financial models;

? Excellent knowledge of business and the technology marketplace as a whole;

 

Knowledge

 

? Company culture, organization, mission and values;

? Company products, services, strategies and initiatives;

? Concepts and principles of finance and accounting;

? Time and project management concepts.

? Expertise in mergers and acquisitions

 

Computer Ability

? Excellent Excel skills

? Extensive experience in developing financial models in Excel

? Strong grounding in PowerPoint

 

Education

BA or BS, Business or Finance degree.  A graduate degree in these areas is preferred

Certifications: CPA would be a plus



 

Working conditions 

Normal business environment; Occasional travel may be required.
