Middle Office Analyst (TEP)

Middle office Analyst position (Energy)located in Central New Jersey. Salary pays up to $120K with heavy bonus. 

Summary of Position:

Energy marketing is engaged in the sale of fuel oil, natural gas and electricity. Seeking an analyst to perform middle office functions supporting the natural gas desk & electricity desk:

 

 

Responsibilities:

ENSURE ACCURATE MARKET QUOTES FOR MARK-TO-MARKET CALCULATION - once the market has closed the senior middle office analyst will ensure the prices and volatilities used to value the portfolio are accurate.  Inputs from the desk will be compared to available market sources to confirm reasonableness of quotations.  Discrepancies will be addressed with the desk.

 

DAILY POSITION AND P&L REPORTING - The Senior Middle Office Analyst will be responsible for calculating the position and P&L on the more complicated strategies used.  LDC swing, BTUS, and storage are currently handled manually and require a senior individual to manage these reports.  Option analysis will also be included.

 

ANALYZE AND EXPLAIN CHANGES IN THE PORTFOLIO - Once the manual strategies have been updated the P&L must be attributed to its sources. Inconsistencies will be investigated and identified.  The Senior Middle Office Analyst will concentrate on analyzing the complex strategies.

 

PROCESS TRADE CONFIRMATIONS FOR COMPLICATED DEALS - Many of the deals executed for the complex strategies will not be handled by the Apollo System.  These deals will require manual confirmations to be generated.  The Senior Middle Office Analyst will create these confirms and ensure the booking of the deal is consistent with the confirm.  If the client sends in their version of the confirm (instead of executing ours) The Senior Middle Office Analyst will review it to ensure accuracy.

Middle Office Experience for derivatives trading business
