Basic Function:

JPMorgan is an important participant in the dynamic structured finance market of securitized transactions and a market leader in the fast growing collateralized debt obligation (CDO) product area. This job requires the analyst to play the crucial role of building analytical models used by CDO industry participants (ie. investment banks, portfolio managers, rating agencies, investors and insurers). The analyst will be responsible for supporting client services by developing and testing complex financial models relied on by portfolio managers and institutional investors to make informed portfolio and investment decisions.

 

Job Responsibilities:

? Comprehend, interpret and analyze legal documents on complex financial structures

? Model compliance reports and tests using in-house software applications (e.g. SAM, Wall Street Office, MS Access) to meet deadlines and quality standards

? Work closely with transaction negotiators (Deal Manager) to establish document guidelines, calculations and responsibilities that are clear and within system capabilities.

? Define data and reporting requirements for the deal and communicate these to programmers.

? Review and test the report output produced by the programming group.

? Work closely with Client Service Managers (RMs) on new client requirements or maintenance issues.

? Follow procedures for deal setup, quality assurance and hand-off process with internal client



?  Bachelor in Business, or related, required; Masters or CPA certification strongly preferred


?  Finance experience, with knowledge of fixed income securities or structured finance required


?  High proficiency with Microsoft Office software, especially Excel and Access


?  Strong interest and aptitude for systems and technology needed with SQL coding experience required and considerable exposure to Visual Basic, Power Builder and Oracle database a strong plus


?  Moderate programming experience is required


?  Strong attention to details required


? Demonstrated in depth ability to accurately comprehend, interpret and analyze legal documents required


? Ability to work in a demanding work environment and overtime when needed


?  Demonstrated strong analytical and technology skills required


?  Excellent demonstrated verbal and written communication and influence skills
