New Business Initiatives, Finance Manager (SV-3366)

This position will support the Finance Director of the New Business Initatives (NBI) and the respective NBI team, in order to ensure accurate, consistent, leading and repeatable reporting and forecasting to facilitate executive decision-making.
Core responsibilities include:
* Provide business, financial, and operations analysis (e.g. business cases, return on investment) and scenario modeling to impact top-line and bottom-line results and to support senior management decision-making.
*  Support major business reviews, including periodic strategy reviews and business plan reviews with the senior leadership team.
*  Develop, publish and monitor key business metrics of market segments (via the performance dashboard).  Tie in financial metrics to business metrics with segment team. These will include various projects within the NBI potentially with business models that are new to Seagate.
*  Provide leadership to the NBI team to ensure products that are on target, meet or exceed customer?s expectations, are profitable, strategic and are delivered to the market within developed guidelines. This includes working with the finance directors supporting other BU?s to complete analysis for SLA?s and the successful handoffs of projects to their respective BU.
* Provide regular status updates and reporting to executive team. Gather input and ensure that this team decides on all critical priorities to ensure that resources are effectively targeted on the most important organizational priorities.
This position will be located in Scotts Valley, CA

Experience Required:
Prior experience in a corporate FP&A and/or business role supporting a business unit or market segment.  Knowledgeable of revenue recognition policies and procedures across various sales channels; OEM, Distribution, and Retail. Knowledgeable about business models in other markets beyond HDD?s.  Track record of driving strategic decisions that create value and enhance overall business success.  Excellent analytical, planning and problem solving skills.  Self-starter with ability to multitask in fast-paced environment. Proficient in Oracle, Essbase, MS Office. MS Access.  Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively at all levels of an organization.

Education:
7 years in a combination of roles within financial planning and/or accounting. BS/BA in Accounting/Finance required.  MBA preferred.
