Oracle Financials Business Analyst

PURPOSE:

Provide on-going support and in-depth knowledge of Oracle Applications modules related to one of the following: Oracle Purchasing - Payables, Procurement, Dupplier Portal, Oracle Projects ? Project Manufacturing, Inventory, Costing, BOM, MRP, Oracle Fixed Assets ? General Ledger, Fixed Assets, Application Desktop Integrator, Financial Statement Generator, Enterprise Asset Management, Inventory, BOM and MRP.  Interface with business users, Module Administrators, Oracle Corporation and other stakeholders to ensure Albertsons realizes maximum business value from the investment in Oracle Applications. 

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

? Act as liaison between business and I.T. including module administrators

? Represent Finance by participating in future projects and initiatives involving the Oracle Financial System

? Work with Module Super Users to advise on impacts of Setup changes

? Troubleshoot Module issues ? tier X support (after or with Module Administrators and Super Users)

? Assure that system, process and personnel are functioning coherently

? Help train FA users and project accountants

? Maintain an awareness of enhancements made to future Oracle releases

? Work with all other team stakeholders and Business Analysts (P2P Business Analyst, Financials Business Analyst, Finance personnel, other business personnel with touch-points to the Financials system)

? Assist with Quality Assurance including system testing and compliance

? Assist with ensuring Financial System Controls including Sarbanes Oxley compliance

? Continuously look to enhance the Oracle Financials System through minor initiatives and future projects.

? Assist the Director of Financial Systems with the development of business cases and/or project management activities associated with future projects and enhancements

? In-depth knowledge of Oracle Fixed Assets, Projects, Enterprise Asset Management, BOM and MRP

? Understanding of impacts of and to other Oracle modules such as Purchasing, Payables and General Ledger.

? Participate in Oracle Applications User Group, Customer Advisory Board and other external activities

? Understanding of overall system including external interfaces, integration points, third party software (i.e. Sabrix, Decision Point) and BEA to allow for troubleshooting and enhancement opportunities

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

? Bachelor degree in Accounting, Information Technology or related field

? Previous experience working with Oracle Applications

? High degree of creative problem solving and initiative

? Proficient in MS Office Products, web based applications, and navigating the world wide web

? Knowledge/training on Account Generator and Auto Accounting

? Able to perform data input and correct errors; Proficient in working with a calculator

? Able to work with Oracle applications

? Possess strong communication skills, both written and verbal.  Must have the ability to represent the Company?s best interests to outside professionals and vendors

? Familiarity with accounting concepts and general accounting principles

? Familiarity with financial record keeping procedures, laws, regulations, and standards, public auditing policies, standards and procedures

? Familiarity with month end close process management (JE approval; account reconciliation; AP-related tax issues; account reconciliation)

? Understanding of applying relevant process measurements; Multi-tasking and problem solving skills

? Knowledge of standard fixed assets policies, procedures and regulations

? Understands tax reporting procedures, regulations and standards

? Knowledge of financial analysis & reporting

? Capable of reviewing transactions and identifying discrepancies; understanding of maintaining records

? Project management knowledge and skills to provide framework to manage the program/project master schedules, work plans, issues, communications, budgets and information/knowledge

? Awareness of the underlying data model and technology infrastructure associated with Oracle Applications

? Limited ability to write and run SQL queries and extract data from the Financials System

? Awareness of the underlying data model and technology infrastructure associated with Oracle Applications

? 6 + years of general business analysis experience required.

 

PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT:

? Most work is performed in a temperature-controlled office environment.

? Incumbent may sit for long periods of time at desk or computer terminal.

? Incumbent may use calculators, keyboards, telephone, and other office equipment in the course of normal workday.

? Stooping, bending, twisting, and reaching may be required in completion of job duties.
