Position Summary


Within Treasury Services Core Cash Management (CCM) (see below for overview of product company), the Sub-Controller will be responsible for directing and overseeing CCM’s Paper-based product operations’ financial accounting & reporting functions.  This will include responsibility for ensuring all current financial accounting matters are properly controlled and that all business and technological changes with potential accounting impact are properly identified and controlled.  The Sub-Controller will identify, analyze & interpret trends & issues requiring management's attention and present findings and specific recommendations to CCM Product Controller, CCM CFO and other senior management.  The Sub-Controller will play a leadership role in the most complex accounting/finance projects and will have broad latitude in decision making.


 


Role and Responsibilities:


The Sub-Controller will report to the Core Cash Management Product Controller and CCM CFO.  The Sub-Controller will leverage the work of the Operations, TS Controller Group as well as the CFO organization in the completion of tasks.  This position may directly supervise individuals in the future as the function is built out.  Specific responsibilities:


 


Ensure accuracy and completeness of all financial accounting and financial reporting with strong focus on balance sheet controls and month-end close

Documentation of the close process and completion of a closing binder by product.  Product balance sheet and P&L analytics throughout the close process

Documentation of balance sheet reviews and P&L with Controllers group

Review of key account reconciliations and monthly expense accruals

Ensure best practice compliance with US GAAP and Corporate accounting policies supporting SEC Certification, 10Q and press release processes for Treasury Services

Document the end to end process from Transaction Processing Systems (TPS) to General Ledger and MIS noting control points


- Merger and Acquisition Support


Lead merger integration efforts for Global Clearing Operations from a finance perspective


- New Product review and approval from a financial controls perspective


- Sarbanes-Oxley oversight


Ensure SoX testing for Global Clearing Operations is complete and accurate

Pro-actively promote control consciousness within Global Clearing Operations

Support ad hoc financial reporting requirements

Pro-actively represent the Product Company in cross-company discussions to ensure reciprocity of best practices


- Attract, retain, and develop talented staff as necessary


- SAS 70 involvement

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance or related discipline. Strong public accounting experience preferred.
Demonstrated leadership ability, motivated self-starter, ability to handle frequent deadlines, good team player
Strong knowledge of Accounting and Finance with particular emphasis on balance sheet and operational control – wholesale banking and/or financial services experience beneficial but not essential
Direct experience with JPMorgan Chase corporate systems a plus (i.e., STARS, GLAS/MSA, SAP, ViewDirect, FinanceGate, Onestop, etc.
Demonstrated analytical ability
Excellent written and verbal communications skills across all levels of management and all functions
Experience managing staff
