Purchasing Analyst

Atlas Air, Inc., headquartered in Purchase, NY, is a worldwide all cargo carrier that operates a fleet of Boeing 747 freighters primarily under long-term contracts to the world's major international airlines. The Company provides highly reliable, airport-to-airport air cargo transportation services throughout the world to other major international airlines. It operates the world's largest fleet of 747 freighter aircraft and in terms of cargo carried, has become the world's third largest cargo carrier, behind only Federal Express and UPS. We are currently seeking a Purchasing Analyst to work in our Purchase, NY Headquarters office located in Westchester County. This is a full-time permanent position.

Position Summary:  Responsible for monitoring of specified spend categories for goods and services related to indirect requirements.  Included within this group are services required to be used across the entire organization including such items as express delivery services, telecommunications, purchase card, travel, printing, office supplies, communications, etc.  By leveraging the companies buying power, the Analyst is responsible for establishing contractual relationships with vendors who provide the greatest value to Atlas Air.  The Analyst will administer the execution of agreements to ensure that contractual requirements are adhered to by both the vendor and Atlas.  The Analyst will assist supported departments as necessary.  The Analyst will also be responsible for supporting the acquisition of one off acquisitions through the creation of purchase orders. Additionally, the analyst will serve as the senior analyst for implementing a new pay to procure process for Atlas Air.

Major Job Accountabilities:
Creation of Non-Inventory Purchase Orders
Analyze corporate requirements and source cost effective solutions
Administer contracts for specific spend categories
Analyze the procurement process to ensure compliance with corporate policy
Resolve issues of non compliant purchase orders
Resolve issues with respective departments regarding open purchase orders and orders received but not invoiced
Produce reports on Vendor Analysis and use information to leverage purchasing power

Qualifications: 
4-Year Degree ? MBA and/or CPM helpful
JDE Experience a plus
Strong analytical skills is a must as well as a superior understanding of MS Excel
Airline experience a plus
Should have a minimum of 1-year experience in a Purchasing role or similar environment
