Our client, an investment management firm specializing in active global and international equity strategies is looking for a Quantitative Research Analyst.

 

This person will report directly to the director of research and work closely with other research analysts and portfolio managers. The ideal candidate should have an advanced degree in finance, statistics or accounting, and experience in quantitative investment research, as well as basic knowledge about fundamental research and industry-specific stock analysis. The person will primarily focus on identifying new stock factors and developing new quantitative models/strategies. Experience in growth strategies and modeling is extremely valuable.

Duties and Responsibilities:

A high-level understanding of the duties and responsibilities of this position are: Develop advanced quantitative models for stock selection and asset class return projections. Identify new drivers of stock and industry returns. Help develop new investment strategies in value or growth stocks. Monitor academic and practitioner literature to identify new research ideas.

Qualifications:Advanced degree in finance, statistics or accounting In-depth knowledge of regression techniques and statistics, such as least square regression, time-series modeling, nonlinear regressions, and hypothesis testing. Good understanding of macroeconomics, business cycles and industry fundamentals. Experience in industry analysis and modeling beyond traditional value and growth factors. Strong experience with programming languages and databases, including Matlab, SAS, S-Plus, SQL, ClariFi, Bloomberg, Factset, Worldscope and CompuStat. Interest in fundamental analysis and stock picking. Strong communication skills.

 

The candidate should have a very strong background in econometrics and estimation techniques at the PhD level or significant experience specifically in this area.
