Real Estate Project Financial Analyst

For more than 30 years, and through every market cycle, Weyerhaeuser Realty Investors (WRI) has offered builders and developers a dependable source of institutional capital for residential development projects.  Guided by an experienced team of investment managers in the construction and financing business, WRI develops investment solutions to serve the needs of our builder clients and participant investors.  WRI typically funds over 50 deals per year with nine investment team locations across the US.  We are in search of a qualified professional for the position of Project Financial Analyst in our regional investment office located in Roseville, CA.

 

Position Summary:

To help promote WRI’s continued success, the Project Analyst will be relied on to perform financial analysis and real estate risk assessment in support of underwriting new investments and meeting portfolio management and reporting needs.

 

Primary Duties:
Research geographically diverse housing markets covering a variety of product types.
Financial modeling and due diligence for underwriting new investments.
Credit analysis / underwriting of developer clients’ homebuilding operations and finances.
Preparation and presentation of materials for investment committee and co-investors.
Review documentation and coordinate closings with outside counsel, title/escrow and clients.
Work with developer clients within assigned portfolio to meet reporting requirements.
Ad Hoc modeling and analysis for portfolio management.

 

 




Skills and Capabilities:
Advanced cash flow modeling skills (Excel-based programs). 
Strong knowledge of MS Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and photo editing software.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Ability to work effectively in a small team environment as well as independently.
Excellent organizational and critical thinking skills.

 

Requirements:
BA/BS degree in accounting, finance, economics or real estate.
2-5 years of experience in related field (i.e., finance, lending, credit analysis, real estate development, appraisal, audit).
Background in real estate investments and/or development or homebuilding industry.
Background in real estate finance, underwriting processes and complex financial spreadsheet modeling.
Demonstrated career interest in real estate industry.
Current California Real Estate license is preferred, but not required.
CPA designation is desirable, but not required.
