We are adding a Research Analyst, Press Relations to our New York location.

The Research Analyst ? Press Relations position will be a new position within the Thomson Financial content group which will focus on mining Thomson Financials market leading content surrounding Mergers & Acquisitions and Global Capital Markets.  The key output will be to create reports and swift insightful reactions to breaking news for distribution to the PR team and journalists at key financial media outlets.  The analyst will need to be able to brief key media on this proactive research ? which will focus on areas including M&A and capital markets activity as well as corporate earning forecasts and key economic forecasts.

 

Specific Responsibilities 

 Identify newsworthy events affecting the markets and create swift and timely research/commentary around these events. Track and report media attribution across global media. Utilize Thomson Financial tools to create reports as necessary for use in analysis. Deliver research in ?media friendly? format. Explain/brief journalists on proactive research ? with confidence and authority. Plan and execute TF press outreach? in line with global research and PR program. Service media requests for financial data.

 

Experience 2-3 years experience within the financial marketsStrong Excell skillsStrong Analytical skillsStrong Communication skills - written and verbalExperience using Thomson Financial solutions such as Datastream, First Call, and SDC, preferable but not requiredProven experience briefing media/journalists, preferable but not requiredHighly motivaded self starterDesire to expand finanical markets knowledge
