Risk Control Analyst

Shell Trading Services Company is currently seeking a Risk Control Analyst for its Houston, Texas location.

Responsibilities:
In this position, you will be responsible for preparing and analyzing daily profit and loss for a gas trading desk, as well as monitoring against limits (I.e. exposures, VaR, etc.).
 
Key Accountabilities Include:
- Reporting and explaining mark-to-market, positions and value-at-risk (VaR) on a daily basis for the Texas/Oklahoma natural gas trading desk
- Providing daily P&L reporting to traders and upper management
- Providing ad hoc reporting and queries relating to P&L, positions and/or value-at-risk using Endur and/or Data Warehouse
- Monitoring exposure limits daily within the Trading Control framework
- Ensuring traders provide marks every afternoon in timely manner
- Assisting accounting with reconciliation of P&L and resolving differences

Requirements:
To be considered for this position, you must possess a Bachelor?s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or a related field. Energy industry experience of approximately 2 to 3 years preferred.

- High level of attention to detail and accuracy
- Basic understanding of energy markets and Risk Management fundamentals
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to meet deadlines while managing multiple priorities in fast paced trading environment
- Advanced working knowledge of Excel
- Experience using Risk Management System(s)
- Knowledge of Value at Risk measures
- Knowledge of Basic Risk Management and Trading
- Strong Communication and Interpersonal Skills
- Takes Ownership and Accountability
- Knowledge of Risk Management Systems
