Risk Management Analyst

The Department:  The Risk Management department provides quantitative and qualitative assessment of market risk associated with Quellos? Absolute Return Strategies.  This is done through systematic analysis of investment portfolios as well as through custom analysis of specific market scenarios.  The group is responsible for processing and analyzing portfolios, maintaining and updating risk metrics, and for enhancing risk monitoring capabilities.

 

 

Position Summary:    Analyst, Risk Management

The Risk Analyst will be a key member of the team and report to the Associate Director Risk Management.  Risk Analyst?s primary responsibilities will be identifying and analyzing risk exposures of hedge fund portfolios.   The analyst is expected to have a good knowledge of financial instruments, associated risk factors and hedged investment strategies.  Risk analysis offers a unique opportunity to combine interests and skills in multiple fields like finance, economics and mathematics.  The analyst is expected to step into one or more areas of increased responsibility in Risk Management and make positive contributions to the growth and evolution of the group.  The analyst will be assigned other duties and projects as required.

 

 

Professional

Qualifications:  The successful candidate should possess strong independent learning skills, be comfortable with financial mathematics, and possess a desire to learn about sophisticated financial instruments and strategies.  Familiarity with MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) or similar software is a must; some familiarity with databases would be a bonus.  A four-year college degree is required, with Finance, Mathematics/Statistics, Engineering or Economics degrees preferred.  Experience in finance or investments is essential.  Strong communication and interpersonal skills are highly desirable.

Characteristics: The candidate should be self-motivated and proactive, with a willingness to learn new skills and take on additional responsibilities, as well as the professionalism to take ownership of their work.  In addition, the candidate should possess an outgoing, friendly personality, excellent communication skills and must be able to work both individually and as a member of a team.

 

 

Compensation:    In addition to an annual base salary and an opportunity for equity

in the firm, the successful candidate will be eligible to receive cash compensation in the form of a discretionary annual bonus, based both on individual merit as well as entity-wide profitability.  The firm also provides a generous benefit package including medical, dental and vision benefits, life insurance, and short-term and long-term disability benefits, as well as a 401(k) Profit Sharing Program.
