SENIOR FINANCIAL ANALYST

ROBERT MORRIS UNIVERSITY seeks candidates for the position of Senior Financial Analyst in the department of Financial Operations reporting to the Manager, Financial Planning and Analysis.

 

This role?s primary function is to initiate financial analysis and decision support in a variety of capacities across the University. This position frequently requires working with a broad set of teams across the University to further develop internal processes and information systems to assist in business decisions. Responsibilities include: foster professional and productive relationships within the University; analyze management reports reflecting departmental and total University budget vs. actual financial data; assist in maintaining the planning and forecasting models; analyze current cost structures and trends with an assessment of opportunities for cost containment and reduction of waste; financial decision making support including profitability reporting and analysis; assist in creation of further development of internal management information systems, including management objectives, standard reporting methodologies, and University performance metrics; support the University budget process by soliciting and detailing requests from budget managers; review and assessment of business cases related to new investments and initiatives; determine and evaluate product line profitability; conduct ad hoc analyses; and performing related work as required.

Qualified candidates will possess:

?  Bachelor?s Degree in Finance or Accounting or equivalent experience.

?  5-7 years of relevant experience.

?  Thorough understanding of accounting concepts/procedures including expense account reconciliation, financial statement review and analysis, and financial scenario evaluation/presentation.

?  Detailed understanding of the financial impact within an organization?s business operations.

?  Ability to multi-task in an evolving environment.

?  Excellent time management, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

?  Meticulous attention to detail and quality of work.

?  High initiative, self-starter, and team-oriented focus.

?  Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, with heavy emphasis on Excel.
