SOX QA Prime

Roles and Responsibilities

? Perform second level QA reviews on SOX process documentation and SOX testing documentation to ensure documentation and testing standards are complied with in a consistent manner
- Includes review of:
? Narratives and flowcharts
? Manual, IT, segregation of duties and end user computing application control documentation and testing

? Perform QA reviews on all deficiencies and related deficiency data to ensure agreement with the methodology and global consistency

? Perform QA reviews on remediated deficiencies to ensure the appropriate and complete implementation of remediation plans

? Provide feedback to SOX Team on QA reviews performed and ensure that all issues identified through the QA process are addressed in a timely manner

? Perform overflow first-level QA reviews on behalf of SOX Primes on
- Process documentation
- Testing documentation
- Remediated deficiencies

? Integrate with Training Prime to ensure all findings/issues/trends are incorporated into training where appropriate

? Report status and findings to the Methodology Lead

? Be available to assist in other areas of the SOX Methodology including SOX training and developing controls for significant processes

Qualifications:

The QA Prime should have a strong understanding of internal control over financial reporting.  The individual should have financial statement/internal control auditing background.  They will be a CA/CPA with an undergraduate university degree.  Ideally, the individual would have SOX experience and knowledge in IT Application controls.

The individual should be a quick learner, have strong organizational, time-management and communication skills.  The individual must be very detail oriented, but at the same time should be able to apply their judgement to determine the relevance of non-compliant items in the work they review.  The person should be able to step back and assess the impact of their findings on the overall quality and determine if re-work is required.
