Purpose

As a Safety Compliance Process Leader you will be responsible for Target Corporation's OSHA and other safety regulation compliance, emergency planning and response, and property protection program management.

Maintaining a working knowledge of Federal and State OSHA regulations. Developing and maintaining processes for Target stores & DCs that keep them in compliance with those regulations.
Responding to safety related citations and negotiates with regulatory agencies involved with enforcement actions against Target Corporation.
Working closely with the Industrial Hygiene resource personnel on the Environmental Team to address team member health exposure issues that are related to safety enforcement activities.
Working with Alert One and 3E to maintain the integrity of Target's Material Safety Data Sheet program.
Protecting Target's physical property (buildings and their contents) from losses due to natural hazards, earthquake, and fire.
Being the prime contact for Global Risk Services (or the current vendor), a property protection consulting and inspection service company that works with Target Stores & DCs.
Assessing the impact of property insurance industry trends on the cost of insuring Target's property.
Identifying new technologies that can improve Target's ability to withstand property loss exposures while at the same time reducing Target Corporation's cost of constructing its' facilities.
Partnering with Assets Protection on crisis response planning and emergency preparedness and response.
Representing Risk Management on the Business Continuation Committee and is the primary liaison with that group.

Job Requirements
Minimum Requirements
Bachelors degree or equivalent experience.
Posses a thorough understanding of property protection practices, safety regulation requirements, and Target Corporations' internal safety processes.
Understands store and DC work processes.
The Target Leadership Dimensions of Think Strategically, Communicate Effectively, Manage Execution and Drive Change are skills the SCPL must rely on.Desired Requirements
Experience as a field based Safety Management Specialist is a plus.
Safety/Risk related undergraduate/graduate degree is a plus
