Securities Lending Trader

Traders are expected to help manage the overall client and broker relationships which requires them to liaise with both clients, counterparties, and all support groups including Settlements, Collateral Management, Risk, Credit, Legal, Compliance, and other Sales Desks and locations
The candidate will be responsible for developing new and enhancing existing relationships with other financial institutions and leveraging these relationships to maximize client income. Candidates must have a strong knowledge and understanding of the financial markets, specifically the securities lending industry and alternative investment products. In addition, the candidate will be building relationships with other team members and leveraging their knowledge of the securities lending industry to suggest improvements and encourage other team members to learn and improve processes.
Candidates must demonstrate the ability to make accurate decisions in a high-pressure environment; they must have exceptional written and verbal communication skills, and possess excellent problem-solving abilities. Processes and client services levels in the Portfolio Lending unit are continually improving and developing and therefore require active contribution including new ideas and a high level of creativity.
o Data management including building extensive analytical, proprietary, and other models and databases
o Point of contact for all broker dealer relationships for all asset classes
o Trade processing and reporting
o Resolution of reporting and operational errors
o Conducting complicated earnings estimates for potential clients
o Margin calculation checks and reporting
o Stock loan activity checks
o Fails management

Basic Qualifications
o 2 + years of relevant experience in the Financial Services industry
o 2-5 years of international or domestic trading experience in a Hedge Fund, Broker-Dealer, and/or Global Investment Bank environment a plus
o Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics. Although not required, a Masters Degree or a Master Degree candidate is a plus.
o Series 7 and 63 certification is a plus
o Comprehensive computers skills mandatory including advanced use of Microsoft Excel
