Senior Accountant

Description: Conducts complex assignments involving accounting projects, e.g. maintaining ledger accounts and developing financial statements and reports. Requires a broad knowledge of accounting practices and procedures. May provide functional guidance or training to less experienced Accountant jobs. Understand statutory accounting fundamental and related financial statements. Ability to ensure company reporting is in compliance with statutory requirements. Can identify most statutory financial statement components (line items) as well as annual statement exhibits. Knowledge of reinsurance concepts and related accounting. Ability to display profit orientation and business results focus. Demonstrates business partnering ability and focus on business results. Assess and communicate financial implications of business plans and actions. Be able to assess the financial impact of proposed plans and actions. Be able to assess the financial impact of proposed plans, determine whether they make financial sense, and back that opinion with fact-based analysis. Ability to design, implement and maintain appropriate level of internal control to ensure that risks are mitigated and that business objectives are achieved. Ability to understand, identify and prioritize risk based on its impact on operations and the achievement of business objectives.
