Senior Associate - Brands Strategic Planning

Do you enjoy supporting and initiating projects to assist in the development of key business strategies? If so, The Mattel Brands Strategic Planning group wants you to apply for the Senior Associate Strategic Planning position. This group supports Mattel Brands' overall strategic planning process and acts as an internal consulting team. The group works closely with brand marketing in the creation of longer-term brand visions and strategic plans. Additionally, the group works closely with divisional and corporate senior management on a variety of special projects. The person in this role reports to the Manager of Brands Strategic Planning. In this role, you will:

' Support development of business unit strategic plans.
o Develop overall views of the marketplace and key opportunities/issues by analyzing consolidated research data.
o Identify risks and opportunities to long range strategic plans and develop mitigation strategies.
' Provide support for key business managers in exploring new business opportunities.
' Perform business diagnostics around growth and cost optimization strategies and support implementation of selected initiative(s).
' Perform market and data research.
' Identify and evaluate potential brand expansion opportunities, including new market entry:
o Develop options (license, develop internally, acquire, etc.) and recommendation.
o Develop plans to facilitate implementation of selected option(s).

' BA/BS required (Business, Finance, Economics preferred)
' MBA required
' 2-5 years experience including in-house strategic/business development, management consulting, private equity, and/or investment banking
' Experience in strategic planning and new product / business introduction preferred
' Consumer Packaged Goods industry experience a plus
' Excellent analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills required
