Position Summary:
Chase Scientific Glass, a division of Fisher Scientific Products located in Rockwood, TN a leader in laboratory and scientific glass products has an opportunity for a take charge person to fill a key role in our Cost Accounting team.

The selected candidate will have a strong analytical background in cost accounting and the willingness to ask the critical questions needed to improve the function. This is an opportunity for the right person to play a major role in upgrading of the costing function in a high volume manufacturing environment.

Key duties and responsibilities:

? Set full absorption standard costs in a manufacturing environment working with the various manufacturing functions in gathering the appropriate data.
? Analyze the various operating variances i.e. direct labor, material, overhead, trend this data and work with the various responsible department managers making sure appropriate corrective action is taken.
? Oversee the raw material and finished goods inventory accountability by analyzing and trending monthly inventory balances, calculating excess and obsolete inventory, reconciling inventory related general ledger accounts monthly, resolving inventory issues across the purchasing and accounts receivable function and develop new methods with in manufacturing to improve inventory process flow.
? Calculate and analyze monthly scrap glass costs and recommend improvement methods to the manufacturing leadership.
? Resolve inter-company inventory balancing transactions, calculate profit in inventory and analyze inter-company transfer pricing.
? Assist where needed in month end closing activities.


Required Skills:
? Excellent communications skills both oral and written with strong presentation skills
? In depth knowledge of CRYSTAL report writing knowledge mandatory. Microsoft Excel and basic accounting software knowledge is required.
? Must have the skill to develop cooperative relationships with manufacturing employees and leadership to understand issues to be resolved. Strong people skills are a must.
