SENIOR EQUITY ANALYST

 

We are a rapidly growing independent institutional equity research firm based in Cleveland, OH looking for senior analysts with a passion for picking stocks.  We use bottom-up, fundamental investment research practices to identify mis-priced securities and potential catalysts that would provoke a correction to fair value.  We communicate these findings in a timely manner through a team of institutional salespeople covering approximately 200 buy-side accounts throughout the U.S. and Canada.  The firm has no investment banking or asset management businesses and so stock-picking is our core business.

 

We are looking for Senior Equity Analysts with a passion for picking stocks.  The successful candidate will have a curious disposition, as well as an ability to sort through the noise of the market and single out the truly important investment factors. 

 

The Analyst will be responsible for:

? All aspects of fundamental research within their sector group of approximately 15 names

? Creating and maintaining financial and sector models

? Maintaining an investment thesis on each company under coverage

? Actively monitoring coverage companies and communicating change in a timely manner

? Generating proactive investment ideas within this coverage group

? Publishing morning notes and more detailed company reports on a regular basis

? Maintaining professional relationships with coverage company management teams and, from time to time, facilitating meetings between management teams and institutional investors

 

Qualifications

We are looking for established Senior Equity Analysts, or Junior Equity Analysts with 3-5 years sell-side experience who feel they are ready to assume responsibility for their own coverage.  In addition, we are willing to talk with individuals possessing extensive work experience within a given industry and meeting the qualifications list presented below.

 

? Superior analytical and quantitative skills

? Independent, critical thinking and strong decision-making skills

? Ability to function in a dynamic and demanding environment

? Strong interpersonal skills with a core-team orientation

? Solid verbal and written communications skills including the ability to reduce complex situations to more simplified and abbreviated terms

? Outstanding education and work experience

? Series 86 & 87 required from those with Street experience ? CFA designation is a plus

? Ability to relocate to Cleveland, OH area
