Senior Financial and Planning Analyst

This position reports to the Controller of Midwest of Cannon Falls. Primary individual responsible for the accurate presentation of the organization?s Season?s Brand Financial Information, Sox, other financial analysis as requested, process improvement and other as directed.

 

1) Responsible for working with the Controller on the organization?s annual budget process including managing the distribution and receipt of information, processing of information from department heads, and preparing necessary financial analysis of key initiatives and overall results. Also responsible for the preparation of financial information in the prescribed formats:

 Seasons Balance SheetSeasons Profit & Loss StatementsSeasons Cash Flow Statements

 

2) Performs month end (ME) variance analysis and commentary of results in relation to forecast, budget & prior year.  Also researches discrepancies and recommends improvements.

 

3) Performs quarter (QOR) end in depth variance analysis and commentary of results in relation to forecast, budget & prior year.  Also researches discrepancies and recommends improvements.

 

4) Responsible for working with an on-going forecast process which allows executive management to evaluate deviations in anticipated results, gather the deviations and get the deviations in the current forecast

 

5) Responsible for compiling information for QOR meetings and performing necessary analysis.

 

6) Provides Analysis on Cost of Sales, including Distribution, Freight, Planning, Sourcing, Customer Service and any other category relevant to Seasons analysis.

 

7) Provide recommendations to management for ideas to improve profitability and the efficiency of financial processes.

8) Serves as financial contact for internal staff on Seasons related financial issues, attend meetings to keep abreast of issues.

 

9) Works with the sales contact on monitoring sales results as well as reviewing proposed customer and sales rep programs.

 

10) Prepares P&L on key themes, reviews P&L numbers generated by product Development in order to maintain margin targets.

 

11) Assists with preparation and presentation of financial results for all business reviews as needed.

 

12) Assists the organization in complying with Sarbanes Oxley requirements including assistance with process documentation and testing.

 

13) Participates in staff meetings as requested.

 

14) Prepares & Improves Customer Profitability reporting and feedback loop.

 

15) Prepares promotional P&Ls by customer or line of business as requested.

 

Thorough knowledge of GAAP.  Also requires a 4-year accounting degree. Also requires consumer product experience (large SKU count background) and cost accounting experience.  Working knowledge of accounting transaction systems.  Strong Analytical Skills; detail oriented.  Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities.

 

Strong individual with 8-12 years experience that is motivated to grow within a company.
