Senior Fixed Income Strategist

Overview
The Fixed Income Product Strategy Group in San Francisco is seeking a Senior Strategist. The Product Strategy Group is responsible for commercializing the fixed income business in the US, which currently includes long/short, structured, index and active products.

This position will be expected to lead and coordinate new fixed income products and engineer solutions that meet client needs. An important part of the function will be to communicate and provide detailed technical expertise on BGI's fixed income strategies both internally and externally to clients and prospects.


Responsibilities
Own, develop, and oversee the creation of a wide variety of complex fixed income products Work with Legal, Tax and Compliance to optimally package FI capabilities Monitor market trends and work with Investment, Research and Channels to manage the design and implementation of new product ideas Work with Portfolio Management, Trading and Operations to ensure existing and new products can be efficiently manufactured Develop and maintain an understanding of BGI's various alpha and risk models Contribute insight and ideas to Research and Portfolio Management to enhance existing, or develop new, investment capabilities
Assess product profitability, and initiate appropriate action Communicate to Channels the investment strategy and performance results, and provide technical support on products Educate Channels on FI products/capabilities to ensure Channels represent product capabilities accurately and fully Support Channels in representation of FI capabilities and products to clients, prospects, consultants and other financial advisors/intermediaries as necessary. This will include some domestic travel. Understand the competitive landscape; develop key points of differentiation for BGI




Qualifications
5+ years experience working on the buy or sell side in a fixed income specialist role.
Fixed income money management experience desirable
Strong technical background in fixed income.
Comfortable with client presentations
Excellent communication skills
Strong organizational skills
Team player
First degree in a quantitative, finance or economics discipline preferable
CFA or MBA preferred
