Senior Purchasing Agent
Responsibilities:
Manages the sourcing, bidding, negotiation, and inventory management strategies for procurement of $20+ million in supplies and services for the TJX Companies domestic divisions (Stores, District and Regional Offices, Distribution Centers and Home)
Develops and monitors store supply budgets and expenses
Ensures adherence to all Purchasing Policies and Procedures, and manages Supplier Performance/Quality Programs under area of direct responsibility
Provides training and guidance in the professional development of Assistant Purchasing Agents
Decision Making:
Designs strategies to improve Supplier Performance
Develops strategies for sourcing new suppliers (to include Minority and Women Owned Suppliers) and alternative products
Develops purchasing strategies to result in lower pricing structures and savings to the company
Develops strategies to streamline inventory programs and systemic enhancements
Knowledge of Purchasing, inventory management, program administration, financial forecasting and analysis, and project management
Strong PC skills (Word, Excel and Lotus) are necessary
Strong negotiation, communication, organizational, follow-through and analytical skills are required
Must be detail oriented and have proven supervisory and supplier relationship skills
A Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Marketing, Operations or equivalent experience
2 - 4 years experience in Purchasing
Retail store experience helpful
