Senior QA Specialist - GROWTH OPPORTUNITY

POSITION SUMMARY

The Senior QA Specialist develops and manages the implementation of test strategies and plans for various business applications or shared services software. Creates automated test scripts based on strategies and plans. Provides estimates based on analysis of business and technical specifications. Researches trouble reports and assist the application development team in identifying the cause of the fault, recreating the problem scenarios when necessary. Will also coordinate end-to-end testing with remote systems, business partners, and/or third parties, and recommend new methodologies to enhance QA automation and testing operations.

 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Creates all necessary test data as outlined in the Test Plan. Documents, tracks, and communicates test results, analysis, and unresolved problems. Develops and executes test cases for technical and application testing (Programming / SDLC Guidelines, Performance, Load/Stress) to ensure all components meet requirements before changes are placed in production.Individual will interact with on-shore / off-shore development efforts and testing as pertinent to managing the project. Identifies, analyzes, and documents defects and questionable technical functioning.Conducts compatibility tests with other software programs, hardware, multiple operating systems, and network environments.Involved in Technology upgrades of hardware and software in the testing environments.Responsible for set-up and maintenance of the testing environments.Installs and maintains automation test tools.

 

INFORMATION PROCESSING

Individual will be responsible for analyzing information / data received and how it flows through an application in a test environment. Testing could be for a particular modular or a complete solution.  Individual must have the ability to developed test scripts and use the appropriate software and hardware tools to analyze the results of all test scripts. 

 

LATITUDE

This individual will be responsible making sure that the application(s) is complete, has met the Business Unit requirements, appropriate documentation and has met company SDLC standards.  The individual is also responsible for releasing the application(s) to production.

 

INDIVIDUAL IMPACT

This position will have a positive impact on the organization.  This individual will be the gate-keeper between testing and production. In an event of an error, this individual will coordinate the efforts of the various organizations to fix the problem (Development, Operations, Business Analyst, Project Manager, and others).

 

 

SUPERVISORY / LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITY

Individual is responsible to influence the actions of various groups, such as Developers, and Operational groups.

 

 

EDUCATION Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Information Technology discipline.Master?s Degree or equivalent (MS, MBA, JD, etc.) 

 

 

 

SPECIAL TRAINING, LICENSURE, OR CREDENTIAL OR SPECIALIZED EXPERTISE Strong Project Management and analytic skills (PMP or PMBOK certify).Financial systems knowledge, a plus. (Oracle Financials 9i and above).Certified Software Quality Engineer (CSQE) Certification preferred.Six Sigma (Greenbelt) certification is an advantage.

 

 

EXPERIENCE 6 - 10 years as a QA professional.Strong background and experience with Mercury Interactive testing products (i.e. TestDirector, Quick Test Pro, WinRunner, LoadRunner, SiteScope, Quality Center, etc.), Unix, SQL.Experience with validation of Web Development technologies.Ability to work effectively as a member of a team.Strong communication skills, both written and oral.Strong problem solving and decision making skills.
