Overview:

This position will be involved in every aspect of revenue accounting.  The Senior Revenue Analyst will be responsible for making sure that the resulting product(s) are reflecting correctly in the ERP system by reconciling/monitoring/recording deferred revenue and revenue activity.  This position will involve cross-organization interaction with our operations group, where our service delivery and revenue operations teams reside.  This position will be responsible for reporting and analyzing actual results.

 

Finally, this position will work closely with the sales team to coordinate revenue recognition on complex multiple element arrangements.   This position will be responsible for supporting the Corporate Controller in preparing monthly financial analysis packages, and ad hoc financial analysis.  This position will also include any other special projects and analysis as directed by the Corporate Controller and/or CFO. 

 

Responsibilities:Reconcile deferred revenue and revenue activity, ensuring activity is as expectedWork with FP&A to explain variances to forecasted activityProvide revenue and deferred revenue inputs to forecasting processReview and approve credit memos and manual invoices, ensuring proper account coding and accounting rule treatmentCalculate, review, and reconcile revenue and product related reserves (allowances, promotions, erc.)Work closely with IT to ensure the integrity of the data and logic used in reporting and related toolsReview royalty contracts and develop methodology to calculate and report royalties dueReview and reconcile A/R accounts and related activityParticipate in NPI (New Product Introduction) process, ensuring accounting codes and billing/revenue recognition rules used are appropriate for the product launched and that any reporting impacts are clearly understoodWork closely with other team members (both inside and outside of finance) to help ensure that the financial statements of the company are accurate

 

Required Qualifications:Bachelor?s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration Minimum of 6-8 years of revenue recognition experienceSignificant service industry exposure (either industry or while in public accounting)Strong technical understanding of revenue recognition: has significant experience working with SOP 97-2, SOP 81-1, and SAB 104Aggressive self starter with a great team attitude

 

Preferred Qualifications:Big 4 public accounting experienceCPAOracle 11i ExperienceExcel power user (large amounts of data, pivot tables)Revenue analyst in a similarly responsible previous roleComfortable learning new tools, such as database management software
