Sr. Financal Analyst - Financial Planning & Analysis

Primary Objectives:
This position will be a key participant in providing value added financial support to the senior financial management team of Thomson Legal & Regulatory [TLR HQ] and will be a key contact for issues related to expense, capital and FTE information.
Major Areas of Accountability: Coordinates and performs planning, forecasting, reporting, analysis and monitoring attainment of financial and non-financial metrics of consolidated TLR HQ expenses, headcount and capital spending. Assists with coordination and implementation of the annual corporate budget process and interim forecasts. Provides financial support to assigned areas to include coordinating and performing planning, forecasting, reporting, analysis and monitoring attainment of financial and non-financial metrics for assigned business units. Liaison with West financial support teams, Thomson Legal & Regulatory financial support teams, as well as both West and TLR systems support teams. Develops new reporting and analytical tools to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of monitoring business unit performance. Performs other special projects as assigned related to in-depth expense, headcount and capital spending analysis. Consolidates TLR HQ monthly, plan and forecast results.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business required. CMA, CPA, and/or MBA a plus. 5 years of related experience. Strong experience in financial accounting, management accounting, financial analysis, financial modeling, planning, forecasting and management reporting. Advanced capabilities and experience in the use and application of PC tools, mainly Excel and Access. Detail oriented with excellent analytical, quantitative and investigative skills. Good project management skills with the ability to handle a diverse workload and competing priorities. Comfortable in a team environment with changing priorities and time pressures. Highly motivated with ability to work independently within the context of a matrix organization and drive results. Strong written and verbal communication. Proven ability to relate to all levels of management. Experience with SAP, Cognos and Business Objects a plus. Grade level dependent on experience.
