?The Valuation practice helps companies successfully realize the value of their assets in today's rigorous regulatory environment by providing independent and well-supported valuations. We understand how to develop value conclusions under GAAP, tax, and regulatory rules that allow companies to understand the value of an entity, asset, or liability so they can make informed business and investment decisions. We help clients to properly quantify and articulate value for taxation, transaction,
financing, litigation, and strategic management purposes. Key services include: Business & Intangible Valuation, Cost Segregation, Machinery & Equipment Valuation, Construction Advisory, Real Estate Financial Advisory, Leasing, and Dispute Resolution Support.

We are seeking individuals at the?Cost Segregation / Machinery & Equipment?Senior Associate?level in the Tangible Asset Valuation practice in San Francisco. ?Ideal candidates will have between?3?-?5 years technical?Cost Segregation or Machinery & Equipment?Valuation related experience.
?
The successful candidate will assist business owners who are developing or acquiring tangible assets?through construction or acquisition efforts to minimize total project costs and maximize the recovery of capital investments through the integration of valuation, engineering, program management, and tax planning services.? Responsibilities will include analyzing construction plans, specifications, and cost data for the purpose of classifying property
under the federal income tax Modified Accelerated Cost Recovery System.
Senior Associate?Requirements
- 3-5 years experience in construction management, cost estimating, cost segregation studies, machinery & equipment valuation, personal property valuation, and/or fixed asset management
- Purchase price allocation (SFAS 141) and goodwill impairment testing (SFAS 142) experience
- Experience determining the fair value of tangible property for financial reporting and/or tax purposes
- Experience estimating replacement cost, new and actual cash value of tangible property for insurance purposes
- Demonstrated ability to structure and perform financial consulting projects, manage client expectations and relationships, and participate in client presentations
- The ability to manage project expenditures against budget and revenue, and provide sound guidance to team members to ensure the completion of work deliverables
- An engineering aptitude combined with
financial and analytical skills to provide technical valuation services
- Professional demeanor and strong communication skills, both written and oral
- Proficient in MS Office - Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint
- Experience in a professional services or construction firm preferred
- Achievement of or significant progress towards ASA/MA designation in machinery and technical specialties
- BS in Engineering required; MBA in Finance a plus
