Transfer Pricing Analyst

We are seeking a Transfer Pricing Analyst whose primary responsibility will include analyzing, communicating and reviewing all inter-company hard revenue and hard cost transfers impacting and/or arising from the firm's operations in the Americas in support of global transfer pricing compliance. The candidate will be exposed to many facets of UBS's existing and prospective business operations through intensive communications with business unit controllers (BUC), financial reporting (FCD), other members in Group Tax Americas and globally as well as other departments in the firm in order to ensure that the firm's transfer pricing policies are adequately reflected in financial reports and tax returns.

Specific duties:

* Interact extensively with (BUC's) and business managers to discuss, review and correctly implement transfer pricing methods that result in hard transfers; interact closely with members of UBS's financial reporting team to gauge the impact of transfer pricing adjustments on UBS's U.S. financial statement, and U.S. tax returns;

* Work closely with BUC's, FCD, front office, etc. to stay up-to-date on any changes in businesses or activities that may impact existing hard transfers and/or give rise to new hard transfers.

* Review and approve material hard transfer calculations prepared by BUC's either monthly or quarterly and reconcile to transfer pricing methods.

* Participate in reviewing and discussing transfer pricing issues and quarterly reporting requirements with members of UBS's global transfer pricing team;

* Ensure compliance of the transfer pricing hard transfer process with external (SOX) as well as internal operational risk and internal audit guidelines;

* Prepare and maintain all necessary transfer pricing related documentation such as annual IRS 6662 contemporaneous documentation, memos and communications on transfer pricing policies and methods.

* Maintain inventory of US legal entity Service Level Agreements and provide support where appropriate in the preparation of SLA's as agreed with FCD, Legal and Regulatory.
* Provide the Americas Tax Compliance team with all transfer pricing adjustments and support for annual tax return filings and monthly tax provisions

Basic Qualifications

* Undergraduate degree

* Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications (i.e. Excel with use of Pivot tables, Word)

Preferred Qualifications

* Ability to understand transaction flows of financial products from a financial accounting perspective;

* Desire to develop technical knowledge with Internal Revenue Code provision governing transfer pricing (IRC Section 482)

* Strong analytical, organizational and time management skills;

* Strong quantitative, oral, and written communication skills;

* Strong interest in the Investment Banking/Financial Services industry

* Prior experience in product control, financial reporting or business management of a financial services institution or prior experience in transfer pricing compliance

* Working knowledge of IRC Section 482;

* End-user experience with SAP FI general ledger package and/or GCRS;

* General understanding of SFAS 109;

* Working knowledge of UBS organization, products and internal reporting processes;

* Advanced MS Excel and MS Word skills (i.e. macros) as well as PowerPoint.
