Underwriting Manager - Large Group/Labor & Trust

We are seeking a natural leader to oversee our Underwriting department in this fast-paced position. As the Underwriting Manager, you would help your team achieve their time/production goals while serving as a mentor and providing training for new staff.

 

Primary responsibilities include:
Underwriting "jumbo" cases as needed
Assisting direct reports (underwriters) with books of business
Providing mentoring, training, and guidance for underwriters
Entering data into Web ports
Meeting prescribed turnaround times
Conducting peer reviews



Substantial experience in fully insured, large group underwriting or a strong knowledge of labor and trust is required for this position. Prior work in a similar environment (fast paced, deadline driven) is needed. A successful history of leadership/management is a must, along with stellar communication skills. Computer proficiency is essential. A Bachelor’s degree (preferably in a related field) is required.
