Vice President, Finanacial Application Development and Support

This position formulates/defines specifications and develops complex applications or modifies complex existing software systems and/or applications.

Primary Responsibilities Include:
- Working with business clients and other infrastructure groups to resolve business and systems issues.
- Taking the central role in the project planning, project definition, requirements definition, analysis, design, testing, system documentation and user training.
- Performing a significant amount of system/business analysis and quantitative analysis.
- Resolving user problems by understanding them, recommending a design, prioritizing the work and implementing the solution.
- Writing management reports as part of several on-going systems projects or building ad hoc reports using Excel and SQL database or OLAP script.
- Researching the source of requested data and reconciling the data to ensure integrity and accuracy.
- Enhancing existing and/or building new applications in VB, C/C++, ASP script, MS Access, Notes, Essbase or Powerbuilder.

A successful candidate will have:
- 3+ years experience programming in the tools used in client/server systems/applications.
- 3+ years experience leading other developers or managing complex, multi-department applications.
- Advance degree can compensate for fewer years of programming experience.
- Knowledge of Mortgage Banking, Accounting, and Finance.
- Strong knowledge of systems development life cycle methodology.
- Knowledge of database design, normalization and tradeoffs between storage space and performance.
- Knowledge of Windows NT and associated Windows tools such as Source Safe version control, Explorer, SQL Enterprise manager and Windows NT resource kit.
- Mastery of the SQL Script language and ability to tune SQL code for optimal database performance.

The ideal candidate may also possess:
- BS/BA degree in Computer Science, Engineering or Science.
