VP Finance/Controller

Our client, a successful boutique media company, focused on the Hispanic Media marketplace has a need for a VP Finance/Controller who will operate out of their Tampa, Florida headquarters. This integral role will offer the candidate of choice the opportunity to help lead the charge as this organization grows to 100+ million in revenue over the next few years.  With offices across the country, this firm has a truly national reach.

 

Responsibilities:

 

1.Directs the preparation of all financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, reports to shareholders, tax returns and reports for government regulatory agencies.

2.Oversees accounting departments, budget preparation and internal audit functions. Meets regularly with department heads to keep informed and offer direction.

3.Reviews reports to analyze projections of sales and profit against actual figures, budgeted expenses against final totals and suggests methods of improving the planning process as appropriate.

4.Analyzes company operations to pinpoint opportunities and areas that need to be expanded, recognized, down sized or eliminated.

5.Studies long-range economic trends and projects company prospects for future growth in overall sales and market share opportunities for acquisitions or expansion into new product areas. Estimates requirements for capital, land, buildings and increase in workforce.

6.Develops credibility for the finance group by providing timely and accurate analysis of budgets, financial reports and financial trends in order to assist the CEO and Chairman, the Board and other senior executives in performing their responsibilities.

7.Provides technical financial advice and knowledge to others within the financial discipline.

 

Must have 10+ years of senior level financial management experience.  Experience in the advertising, publishing or media marketplace a plus.
