Windows (Server Side) Engineer {Major Asset Firm}

ABOUT POSITION:

  This Asset Management's IT Department is responsible for the core systems and shared infrastructure used to operate all of our research, investment and back office systems.

  The opportunity includes leading and assisting in solution design and implementation as well as ongoing maintenance and enhancement of current infrastructure systems.

 

  Candidates should have a solid grounding in problem solving and analytical skills.

Design and build infrastructure technology solutions in a Microsoft environment such as Email, Antivirus, Software Deployment, Backups, Wireless, etc

 

Operate and administer these and other existing technology infrastructure systems

Create systematic process and procedures (automated where appropriate) for doing so

Develop management, monitoring and alerting thresholds, systems and processes for these systems.

 

Requirements:

v  Expert knowledge in various Microsoft Application Platforms:

o  (Windows 2000/2003 servers {experience with servers with 4GB+ of RAM)

o  Exchange(email retention for compliance),

o  MS SQL servers,

o  File Servers,

o  Windows Clustering,

o  DNS, WINS, DHCP,

o  EMC SAN (Clariion Experience)

? Data replication

v  Solid knowledge of at least one scripting/automation language (VB, Perl, Etc)

v  Experience with networking, VPN, Network Security, etc technologies

v  Strong analytical problem solving skills and an ability to learn rapidly on-the-job

v  Excellent Communication skills are required

 

Education:

BS in Computer Science, Engineering or Mathematics is preferred
