eCommerce Financial Analyst

We are currently seeking a Financial Analyst to join our team. The Financial Analyst will play a key role as the central figure responsible for meeting the reporting and financial analysis needs of each of the individual marketing channel managers. This position is located at our corporate office in Niles, IL.

This person will be responsible for managing large volumes of data and compiling them into meaningful reports to support decision-making. Additionally, the Analyst will also be responsible for tracking and analyzing key metrics and communicating trends and variances in the same to each channel manager.

Besides the reporting and analysis functions, the Financial Analyst will also serve as the business liaison with the Bradford Group accounting department and manage the accounting functions for CollectiblesToday as a whole, including, but not limited to, budgeting, expense reconciliation, reporting etc.

Responsibilities:

Financial and Business ReportingCompile daily, weekly and year-end financial reports on marketing activities and the overall business Track and report on marketing effectiveness during each major holiday season Report on key statistics pertaining to the site and business activities Create reports, charts and graphs for presentations to upper level management Support year-end budgeting for the overall business - Including, but not limited to compilation of key trend data, analysis of past data with recommendations on future performance for each business activity, setup of spreadsheets and databases to aid in budget formulation

Financial AnalysisOngoing analysis of marketing performance to determine Return on Investment, Variances to plan, campaign performance, expense ratios and such Trend analysis for each marketing channel Analyze marketing proposals and create models to determine viability Analyze campaign data to determine effectiveness and recommend course of action Initiate discussion on variances to plan on key metrics for any marketing channel

Accounting responsibilitiesServe as a liaison with the accounting department in matters of: Vendor payments - Includes auditing of invoices received, coding, approval and submission to for payment and ensuring payments are made in a timely manner Quarterly and Year-end invoice and expense reconciliation with accounting for marketing channels

Ad-Hoc Reports as needed

Required Qualifications2 years experience in a financial analyst role Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance and/or Marketing with emphasis in Financial Accounting, Master?s Degree a plus.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Financial Accounting Analysis and Reporting background Strong understanding of online marketing and metrics, with a high attention to detail Good understanding of Web analytics and use of CoreMetrics or similar web analytic software Microsoft Office - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access - Intermediate to Advanced knowledge of Excel and Access Ability to effectively manage and organize large volumes of data for analysis and reporting Online reporting interfaces of Overture, Google, Performics, Commission Junction, BeFree and others FTP software and download/upload processes Basic HTML knowledge Possess initiative to develop new ideas and methods to streamline reporting processes and analytical capabilities. Ability to work independently and produce ad-hoc reports and analyses quickly, as assigned. Driven to keep abreast of latest development/trends in the online business arena. Able to communicate effectively, keeping manager and team members apprised of work status, progress and problem resolution. Ability and passion to investigate eBusiness data for the purpose of uncovering business intelligence Must have demonstrated skills in organizing, translating, and presenting complex quantitative information.
