ACTUARY
- 3 Penn Plaza, Newark, NJ -
Make a significant contribution to the financial stability of our Health Plan as you analyze and develop various statistical/actuarial models, including rate structures for new benefits. Leveraging expert knowledge of mathematics, probability, statistics, finance and business, you will:
Perform trend analysis and financial forecasting
Develop rate formula valuations and prepare rate pages/proposals
Respond to inquiries/audits by regulatory agents
Prepare filings and regulatory reporting requirements
Analyze and summarize statistical data for use in new markets/new plan design
Guide the collection of statistical data and rating methodologies
Identify factors which may effect statistics used in forecasting and modeling
Collaboratively develop/implement processes used in the actuarial department
Provide leadership to other members of the actuarial staff
To qualify, you will need a bachelor?s degree in math, statistics, actuarial science or related field, along with from three to seven years of relevant actuarial/statistical experience, which ideally include supervisory. Candidates must have technical competency with spreadsheet and database software. Excel is required and Access is a plus. Position also calls for solid analytical, communication, mathematical, problem-solving and leadership skills. ASA or FSA is strongly preferred.
