AVP, Privacy Program Administrator

Brief Description:


As media attention on privacy breaches continues to intensify and more stringent legal requirements are enacted, the role of the Privacy Program Administrator continues to become more critically important to the Privacy Working Group and the organization as a whole.  The Privacy Program Administrator is a professional role, whereby collaborative efforts are the norm.  Through the addition of this dedicated resource to focus on the operationalized functions of the team, other team members can begin to be reallocated to address strategic initiatives within the Privacy Working Group that have significant and long-term impact to the firm.Job Responsibilities:


The Privacy Program Administrator is a key role within the ML Privacy Working Group.  The Privacy Program Administrator will be responsible for firm-wide operationalized functions/activities within the ML Privacy Working Group, including but not limited to:

 Managing and maintaining the privacy incident response and resolution programCoordinating updates to the ML Global Privacy Pledge, the ML Online Privacy Statement and the ML Employee Privacy Pledge (including translations) as required by law or other business needs.Coordinating the annual distribution of the ML Global Privacy Pledge as required by law.Providing support for privacy-related regulatory examinationsProviding support for privacy-related training and communications, including employee and client awareness initiatives and the Privacy at ML intranet web site.Qualifications:


--Candidate must possess excellent project management/administrative skills, and must be a self-starter who is highly detail oriented and organized.

--The Privacy Program Administrator must have a good understanding of the firm?s business groups and organizational structure, as he/she will work closely with business and support groups to respond to and resolve privacy incidents and to accomplish the coordination of other projects as noted above.

--Candidate must be able to lead and define objectives, and should possess a fundamental understanding of the regulatory environment including privacy policies, rules and regulations.

--Strong written and verbal communication skills also required.

-- Certified Information Privacy Professional a plus.

--The Privacy Program Administrator role will require the ability of knowing who to involve to assist in the response and remediation of privacy incidents and other tasks.

--The Privacy Program Administrator will also be required to keep all parts of this multifaceted role on track to meet deadlines and guarantee continued compliance of legally required initiatives.

The Privacy Program Administrator candidate will need to balance legal requirements, against the needs of the business, against the perception /desires of ML Clients (and employees).  This role requires the ability to successfully interact with personnel firm-wide including:  various levels of management, Office of General Counsel, technology, information security, services partners and outside organizations.  The Privacy Program Administrator must be able to distinguish isolated low-level privacy issues, from those issues that require prompt and/or elevated handling
