Account Research Specialist

CITY: Cedar Rapids STATE: Iowa COUNTRY: USA Essential Functions (Responsibilities):
* Act as liaison between collections and customer service to support shared performance metrics; Including task resolution and customer expectations
* Initiate customer contact as needed
* Research, analyze and correct complex booking errors
* Analyze journal entries and accounting functions during rebooking of transactions
* Complete Services Requests as assigned which may include but not limited to: Complex rebooking, cash reapplication, cash research, contract disputes, service issues, pay histories, general research and amendment processing
* Resolve customer issues (by mail, fax or internally tasked to the department)
* Complete lessee requests of billing issues, and or lease disputes
* Making changes to account per task or customer request if appropriate
* Support internal departments and function's activities through use and completion of tasks
* General research of issues and coordination of efforts to resolve vendor disputes
* Log in mail and resolve customer's issues from mail/fax or task
* Support outsourcing; support centers and origination centers through use and completion of tasks and comments.
* Develop open lines of communication with other departments to reduce processing errors
* Assist other departmental teams as needed
* Reliable attendance is an essential job function as processes are deadline critical
* Meet/exceed targeted goals and service standards
* Other duties and special projects as assigned
* Assist with sorting and logging of incoming mail

Qualifications/Requirements:
* High school diploma or GED
* Professional customer service orientation with the ability to listen and probe, determine root causes and resolve issues quickly
* Ability to work independently and build and maintain relationship within a team
* Excellent communication skills-interpersonal, verbal, and written with the goal of influencing outcomes
* Self starter; attention to detail; accurate and well organized
* Strong problem solving, analytical and mathematical skills
* Multi tasking capability with the ability to organize and prioritize tasks
* Ability to meet deadlines and established goals as an individual and contribute to the team
* Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel
* Strong work ethic demonstrated through attendance, individual and team commitments

Desired:
* Previous work in a leasing, financial services, or call center environment
* Rebooking knowledge and experience
* 2-4 year college degree (Accounting preferred)
* Experience with other Microsoft applications
