Accountant 2

Job Description: Performs moderately complex accounting activities related to fixed income securities. Must be able to analyze each accounting transaction, ensure proper accounting entries are recorded, and maintain adequate accounting controls. Duties include pledging securities to collateralize specialized deposits such as public funds, trust, repo sweep accounts, state and federal government entities, etc. Works with various internal departments to facilitate collateral needs and interacts with external safekeeping agents.

Other duties may include working with senior level portfolio managers within a fixed income middle office role.
Some of these duties may include: confirming trades with dealers and brokers, adhering to documentation and trade approval requirements, posting daily pending trade reports, keying trades into various systems, working with strict deadlines, providing net settlement information to Treasury Operations in Minneapolis, etc.


Minimum Qualifications: 4 year Bachelor Degree in Accounting/ Finance

Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment

Strong knowledge of MS office applications (Excel, Word) and ability to learn new software

Detail oriented, analytical, able to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines


Preferred Skills: Knowledge of fixed income securities, especially mortgaged backed securities, and derivative products

Familiarity with Bloomberg
