Agency Marketing Director
Summary of Responsibilities
The primary purpose of the Specialist AD positions is for collaborating with the Agency management team led by the Managing Director to provide specialty services. This position may include incumbents who function in one or more of the following specialty capacities: Advanced Markets, or Financial Planning, or Marketing, or Recruiting, or Training. The activity should be driven by the Business plan of the agency and rolls up to meet MetLife Financial Services Business planning objectives. The Specialist ADs are expected to reinforce and contribute to a professional and productive work environment.
Principal Responsibilities
Manage lead generation programs to support selected target markets in the Firm. Collaborate with the agency management team led by the MD in developing a detailed marketing plan and executing strategies for the agency.
Coordinate a calendar of marketing events based on quarterly and annual initiatives. Track and report progress of Agency marketing initiatives on a monthly basis
Allocate and align agency and corporate market resources and capabilities, e.g. seminars and corporate marketing programs. Coordinate logistics for on/off site marketing events.
Maintain client and orphan marketing programs in order to identify cross-selling opportunities for FSRs. Coordinate contact management software usage for cross selling programs. Take advantage of new marketing opportunities by aligning agency strategy to changes in the marketplace.
Understand and apply industry trends, intelligence, and demographic trends within the community.
Be a visible and respected leader in community events. Contact center of influence in the community and create new markets.
Develop and partner with agency management to coordinate 'Recruiting to Markets' program to capitalize on target market potential.
Research and develop a Marketing Center Resource library including a list of local media press contacts. Coordinate community and industry public relations events and communications.
Manage agency call center to penetrate existing MetLife clients.
Develop relationships with other professionals, community and business leaders. Be a member of GAMA
Problem solving, leadership, written and verbal communication, interpersonal and coaching skills.
Knowledge of compliance regulations and company compliance policies.
Knowledge of MetLife policies and procedures. Ability to demonstrate commitment to a professional work environment.
Knowledge of techniques to recruit potential candidate pools and skilled in persuading candidates to join the recruitment process.
Knowledge of what constitutes an FSR training need and the ability to recognize FSRs with ongoing training needs. Ability to effectively train FSRs.
Knowledge of marketing systems, methods to identify markets and ability to provide direction to FSRs to identify markets.
Knowledge of products, and ability to assist FSRs in understanding and explaining products.
Knowledge of prospecting and selling systems, and the ability to manage the delivery of these.
Knowledge of industry trends and field management best practices.
Job Requirements: (Internal Candidates)
Appropriate NASD Licensing and Registration: L/H, Series 6, 7, 24, 63.
Licenses necessary to sell MetLife products.
Participate in and be certified where necessary, in company-sponsored training and development programs.
JD, CPA, MBA, CFP preferable
A minimum of 2 years as a sales representative
Track record of success in financial service sales OR sales management.
Job Preferences:
-Professional Development (i.e. CFP, ChFC, CLU, etc.)
