Summary of Responsibilities
The Recruiting Director conducts and manages the entire recruitment process, from attracting qualifies candidates through the processes of interviewing, following-up, and working to prepare candidates for selection and hiring. She/he identifies and generates agency recruiting activity and may also manage agency employees.
Principal Responsibilities
Coordinate (with the Managing Director) development of the agency-s recruiting plan, recruiting vision statement and recruiting objectives and be accountable for attaining those objectives. Monitor and update the plan as necessary.
Solicit referrals from MetLife associates. Keep MetLife associates constantly aware of the agency-s recruiting need.
With other members of management, identify and develop relationships with Centers of Influence within the community to obtain referrals to others to serve as nominators. Enter them on and maintain the Career Path database. Meet with them regularly and solicit referrals to prospective FSR candidates. Identify area colleges and universities and develop relationships with directors of career development and other members of the college community (faculty, staff, non-academic administrators and student leaders). Schedule on-campus interview dates, participation in career days- or job fairs, classroom presentations and presentations to other interested groups (i.e. fraternities/sororities, academic clubs, etc.) Identify alumni of those colleges who are employed in the agency and involve them in college recruiting activities when appropriate.
Join and remain active in appropriate clubs and organizations in the community.
Keep management associates aware of recruiting activities and results, and solicit their input by conducting weekly recruiting update meetings for other members of management.
Coordinate job fairs, and represent the agency at them.
Manage the agency-s newspaper and professional journal advertising.
Manage the agency-s Internet search and posting activities, including candidate contact and follow-up.
Develop relationships with other MetLife recruiters to share ideas and candidates.
Make career presentations to community clubs and organizations.
Manage the selection process including: coordinating interview process, sending appropriate communications to candidates, administering the employment application and profile questionnaires, etc.
Maintain appointment files.
Utilize all MetLife Financial Services recruiting and selection tracking systems to track recruit flow and efficiency of various recruiting sources.
Required Competencies
Two year-s recruiting experience, preferably in a high-volume recruiting environment or the equivalent.
Proficient on common software packages(MS Office); familiar with the Internet.
Established in the community.
The Recruiting Director must always represent the agency in its best light, and must be professional, ethical, trustworthy, and perceptive.
This person must present an image of a polished, competent, enthusiastic professional in order to reflect positively on the firm/ agency and its reputation.
Demonstrate a substantial personal and/or professional network; has exposure to business planning and performance.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent public presentation skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Communicates effectively; shares information and engages in candid and open dialogue
Produces results; directs action toward achieving goals that are critical to MetLife-s success.
